2. What data we process and why
Enquiry via the website form
When you send an enquiry, we process your name and phone number, the make, model and year of your car, the type of damage, photos of the damage, the VIN or a photo of the VIN label if provided, and your note if you write one.
- Purpose: to assess the damage, prepare a quote and arrange an appointment.
- Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Providing data is voluntary. Without a name and phone number, however, we cannot get back to you, and without a photo we cannot assess the damage.
Photograph only the glass and, if needed, the VIN. You can simply type the VIN, photograph the label behind the windscreen, or photograph only the VIN line in the registration certificate — not the whole document. Please do not photograph people or anything else we don’t need for the assessment.
Phone calls and WhatsApp messages
When you call or message us, we process your phone number, your name if you give it, and the content of the call or messages, including any photos sent.
- Purpose: to answer your question, prepare a quote and arrange an appointment.
- Legal basis: steps taken before entering into a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Glass repair or replacement
When you order a repair or replacement, we process the data needed to carry it out and hand the car back: name, phone, car details (including registration number and VIN), scope of work and price.
- Purpose: to carry out the work ordered.
- Legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Invoices and accounting
On invoices and in our accounts we process your identification details and, for companies, the company name, company ID and tax ID.
- Purpose: issuing invoices, bookkeeping and meeting tax obligations.
- Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, in particular under Act No. 431/2002 Coll. on Accounting and Act No. 222/2004 Coll. on Value Added Tax.
Warranty and complaints
When handling a complaint, we process the job data, your complaint and our communication with you.
- Purpose: handling complaints and providing the warranty.
- Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, under the Civil Code and Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on Consumer Protection.
Asserting and defending legal claims
Should a dispute arise between us, we may use the job data to assert or defend legal claims.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We do not use data for marketing, and we do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling. The chip-and-coin comparison on our website runs only in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
3. How long we keep data
| Details | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Enquiry, messages and photos, if you do not place an order | 6 months from our last communication |
| Job data | for the duration of the warranty (99 months from handing back the car) plus a further 12 months to settle any claims |
| Complaints | for the duration of the warranty, but at least 3 years from settling the complaint |
| Accounting records | 10 years from the end of the year to which they relate |
When this period ends, we delete the data. Photos sent through the website are not stored on the web server; we only receive them by e-mail.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell data. We share it only with those who help us provide the service, and only to the extent necessary:
- our web hosting and e-mail provider, through whom website enquiries and our mail pass (processor),
- an external accountant or accounting firm (processor),
- the glass supplier, if they need the VIN to order the right glass (car data only),
- public authorities, such as the tax office or a court, where the law requires it.
If you message us via WhatsApp, your messages are also processed by WhatsApp Ireland Limited as an independent controller under its own terms. WhatsApp may transfer data outside the European Union.
We ourselves do not transfer data to countries outside the European Union.
5. Website, cookies and third-party services
Our website uses no analytics or advertising cookies and does not track how you move around it.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to a Google server, which therefore receives your IP address.
- Google Maps only loads once you click “Show map”. Google may then store its own cookies in your browser under its own rules.
- The web server records technical data on every visit (IP address, time and page viewed). This serves security and troubleshooting, and the hosting provider deletes it after a short time. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Your rights
In connection with the processing of personal data, you have the right:
- of access — to find out whether and what data we process about you, and to receive a copy (Art. 15 GDPR),
- to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- to erasure, if we no longer need the data or process it unlawfully (Art. 17 GDPR),
- to restriction of processing, for example while we review your objection (Art. 18 GDPR),
- to portability of the data you provided to us, in a machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
You can exercise your rights by e-mail to info@autosklorusovce.sk or by letter to our registered address. We will reply without undue delay, within one month at the latest. To make sure we don’t release data to someone else, we may ask you to verify your identity.
Complaint to the authority
If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you may file a petition to initiate proceedings under Section 100 of Act No. 18/2018 Coll. with the supervisory authority:
- Authority
- Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic
- Address
- Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27

We protect data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. The website communicates over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only people who need the data to handle your job have access to it.
We may update this information, for example when legislation or our services change. The current version is always published on this page.
